The dramatic reconfiguration of this 11-acre site and its existing buildings was designed to shed an outdated “70’s modern” look and enhance this housing’s livability and appeal. Strategic demolition, building upgrades, and targeted new construction combine to create 200 affordable apartments. The former site “superblock” has been divided into smaller neighborhood sized blocks, with new streets and walks connecting to the surrounding community. Design and construction included new kitchens, new bathrooms, and updated façades incorporating new insulation, siding and windows to enhance energy performance.
