ICON Architecture

As part of a new ownership initiative, ICON was engaged to modernize the out-of-date amenity areas in a 10-year old apartment development. Given current trends towards more open areas and work-from-home needs, ICON completely re-programmed the 4500 SF space. Half height walls dividing the tired-looking amenity space were removed to open up areas for shuffle board and foosball; lackluster display shelving was converted to banquette seating, allowing small groups to enjoy the gaming tables. A back-lit bar was created at the center of the space, with iconic lighting to capture views upon entry to the development. The former (and little-used) “pool table room” was converted into a more intimate lounge area, with comfortable seating. The former home theatre has been revived as a highly functional work-from-home business center with a series of small conference rooms and work tables that can be reserved by residents. Completely transformed, the amenity areas now evoke the colors, textures, and energy that residents expect to find at a “Rivers Edge.”
