Orient Heights Breaks Ground, Featured in The Boston Globe
The official ground breaking ceremony took place this week for the first phase of the new Orient Heights housing redevelopment. Located in East Boston, Orient Heights joins a number of other communities in the “Eastie” area as being designed by ICON Architecture. Once all phases are completed, this modern, mixed-income community will feature 373 new units of affordable rental housing for the Boston community. The existing Orient Heights site was built in the 1950s, and has long been one of the most physically distressed properties in the Boston Housing Authority’s state funded portfolio. We are pleased to announce that the project is underway, and that the area is on its way to becoming a beautifully revitalized area for future residents to live.
