ICON sponsors competition
ICON is proud to sponsor the 15th Annual Greater Boston Affordable Housing Development Competition.
The competition matches graduate students with professionals for a two-month period to create an affordable housing development plan. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston has created this event to help students gain real-world experience, make contacts, receive credit, and help critical housing projects get off the ground.
For 12 years, ICON has been mentoring contestants and is honored to continue to be involved in the competition.
At the Final Proposal Presentation and Awards Ceremony last night, the ten student teams presented their work: Honorable Mention was awarded to the Bridge at Jackson, Jamaica Plain/Roxbury, working with Urban Edge. Third Place was awarded to Perennial Court, Malden, working with Asian Community Development Corporation. Second Place was awarded to Morton Crossing on the Indigo Line, with Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation. First place prize was awarded to The Zakim House in Newton, with the Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly.
