DYS Statewide Facilities Master Plan MASSACHUSETTS
The Massachusetts Department of Youth Services’ mission is to promote positive change in the youth in their care and custody and make communities safer. DYS employs a continuum model of services and supervision to address the educational, psychological and health needs of each youth in their custody. DYS operates residential programs, ranging from staff secure to hardware secure programs strategically located throughout the Commonwealth.
The key goal of the Facilities Master Plan is to evaluate and provide facilities that support the agency’s mission. Resulting recommendations will take into consideration current and future needs, maximize the utilization of existing building portfolio, and provide built-in flexibility for the future, while keeping in mind underlying economic constraints and programmatic needs. ICON is engaged in a three phase process:

- Phase 2: DYS Strategic Planner Collaboration
- Phase 3: Facilities Master Plan Report
