ICON Architecture

The Department of Youth Services is the juvenile justice agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Their mission is to protect the public and prevent crime by promoting positive change in the lives of youth committed to its custody by partnering with communities, families, government, and provider agencies toward this end. They accomplish this mission through interventions that build knowledge, develop skills and change the behavior of the youth in their care. The facility supports this mission by providing a positive, healthy environment for the building occupants. In particular, the building design fully daylights all of the regularly occupied spaces. Programs include residential, educational, recreational, and clinical facilities, and dining services. The building also houses the Northeast Regional Administrative Offices.
