College of Arts and Sciences: Classroom Projects BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Over the past several years, ICON has worked with Boston University on renovations to the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). With new teaching methods and practices on the rise in higher education, ICON has been asked to convert standard tablet-armchair classrooms in the College of Arts and Science into lecture and active learning spaces. The new spaces integrate technology and furniture to increase collaborative engagement amongst students and faculty. The first project included a 1,380 SF 80-seat auditorium and a 1,440 SF 65-seat “double tier” lecture hall with dual projection. The second project created six flexible seminar rooms. A current project will upgrade twenty classrooms. All projects are summer construction projects.
