Velo BOSTON, MA
Fronting Olmsted’s historic Arborway and steps from Forest Hills T-station, Velo has transformed a two-acre asphalt parking lot into a vibrant, transit-oriented community. A curved façade floating above a street level portico greets the public, inviting pedestrians to enjoy new commercial space and the adjacent public pocket park. The three separate buildings embrace a lushly landscaped interior court, enlivened by public and private entrances and providing access to below-grade parking. The club house offers a variety of amenities supporting wellness and community. The fitness center includes separate indoor/outdoor yoga space; the commercial kitchen and game room open up to a secluded courtyard, where residents can cook, relax or garden. Residents can also enjoy private balconies with fantastic views of the City and surrounding open space. The project achieves LEED Gold certifiability and includes electric charging stations and rooftop photovoltaic panels.
