- Avenir elegantly combines 241 upscale apartments with vibrant retail and transportation links at street level in a way that is unprecedented in downtown Boston. The 10-story, block-long building appears as a series of varied building masses, reminiscent of the character of separate structures in the historic Bulfinch triangle district. Avenir looks "to the future" and across to Boston's new Zakim Bridge, wrapping upper level parking with street facing lofts, and connecting retail to Canal Street's wide promenade and established retail presence.
Avenir received the 2010 Community Milestone Award from the Downtown North Association in recognition of timely and successful planning, design, financing, construction, leasing, and management.
